Taurine, a type of amino acid, is gaining attention for its potential therapeutic benefits. Originally recognized for effectively treating congestive heart failure, taurine is now approved for this use in Japan and is being studied for treating a range of other conditions (Schaffer S., Kim HW., 2018).

Research shows that taurine can help treat diseases affecting muscles, the central nervous system, and the cardiovascular system.

It's also particularly effective in treating a severe mitochondrial disease known as MELAS and shows promise in treating metabolic issues like diabetes and inflammatory conditions like arthritis.

Taurine seems to work by regulating various cellular functions, from stress response to energy metabolism.
