Recent research has shed light on the benefits of omega 3 fatty acids for bone health (Sadeghi O, et.al., 2019). A comprehensive review of 10 studies, involving a whopping 292,657 participants, has found a link between omega 3 fatty acids intake and a reduced risk of hip fractures.

Specifically, those who consumed more dietary n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids from fish had a decreased likelihood of experiencing such fractures. This correlation was especially pronounced in larger studies of over 10,000 participants and those that factored in body mass index. In essence, regularly using omega 3 fish oil might be a natural way to bolster bone health and prevent injury.

Fish is contaminated, but using a high quality fish oil with high amounts of EPA and DHA will avoid that problem.
