Curcumin has an anti-inflammatory effect, protecting human chondrocytes (cartilage cells) from degradation (breakdown) affecting several biochemical pathways (Henrotin Y, et al. 2010).
Research has documented the many benefits of curcumin (found in turmeric spice), but regular turmeric is hard to absorb. The type of curcumin in our formula improves the absorption 6.93 fold compared to regular curcumin (Anthony B, et al. 2008).
Curcumin is recommended here since arthritis is an inflammatory condition, and Curcumin helps to reduce inflammation.
Better Fish Oil
EPA/DHA, which is found in fish oil, have shown to decrease morning stiffness and reduce the number of painful and swollen joints ( Kremer JM, et al. 1985,Kremer JM. 1996, Kremer JM, et al. 1995, Kremer JM, et al. 1990).
The Better Fish Oil comes in the form of triglycerides which offers better stability to the fatty acids and prevents breakdown and oxidation.
Fish oil in a triglyceride form is also better absorbed than ethyl esters which are more common ( Beckerman B. et al. 1990).
Most people that eat a western diet can benefit from increasing the intake of Omega 3 fatty acid since their diet usually contains too much Omega 6 from vegetable oils and saturated fat from dairy and other animal sources.
