Research suggests that the administration of antioxidants in pain treatment may be employed to decrease the doses of analgesics and to prevent the negative impact of free radicals on pain (Rokyta R, et al. 2003).

When researchers at the University of Florida used a research protocol where they induced an acute phase injury using eccentric exercise, they found that the inflammatory markers IL-6 and C-reactive protein was significantly reduced when taking an antioxidant supplement formula (Phillips T, et al. 2003).

Another study showed that Vitamin C significantly decreased osteoarthritic hip and knee pain (Jensen NH, et al. 2003).
